35. bad cake decorators

this is sort of one of those "so terrible you've got to love it situations" - i can't prove that this is at all unique to texas, but i couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this cake with you, dear reader.

you see, thursdays are our weekly staff meeting, and january was a very rough month on us - extremely busy and all around exhausting, with many mishaps. so my coworker catherine thought she would run to the local grocery store (kroger) and buy us a cookie cake to celebrate the arrival of february.

when she came back with this, i had two reactions. first, it's not a cookie cake. two, were they really selling it like that?

turns out, they were out of cookie cake and just had plain cakes. catherine asked the decorator to put "february 2nd!!!" on the cake. this is what she got instead.

we all got a good laugh and cake to boot.
