Post box 2

Another cold day but at least the sun was shining for part of the morning. Post box 2 is on the outskirts of St Peter Port and in the background is the old Fire Station built in 1909. It used to be manned by volunteers. When called upon the Brigade would charge for its services, an arrangement which continued until 1922. The Fire station moved in 1935 to the Town Arsenal site which still exists today.
