macarons

The pastry counter at our local cafe was particularly colourful and delicious looking this morning. Up and baking from 4 am these sweet treats are fresh baked every day and the macarons have increased in number and varieties over the months.

So much for the traditional chocolate and raspberry. This little collection has a cast of flavours including lavender, aniseed, icy mint, guava, chili choc, passion fruit, violet and almond and chestnut.
Had an interesting time sipping coffee annd trying to match the flavours and colours. ... the blue and icy mint a bit of a give away?
