Replacing a pump
No note or GPS from Harisen!
A big part of what we do at the moment is the replacement of broken pumps.
Everewhere we go, there they are, the saddest sight you'll ever see, the legacy of the white person in a rush to fix all of Africa, the broken pump.
They come in all shapes and sizes, often recently installed, they flatter to deceive and cost donors and taxpayers millions.
Why?. No maintenance plan.
A good friend once told me that all machines eventually break down. With water the only thing that works is gravity.
We find that pumps MUST be fixable by village women
END OF RANT!!
