It was the best of times ...

... it was the worst of times.

Best because, on our morning outing, we saw literally hundreds of fieldfares, redwings, thrushes, starlings etc.

Worst because the skies were so grey and gloomy that I could manage little more than silhouettes of the birds.

Finally, this female blackbird was concentrating so much on the berries down at our level that he allowed me to take a few frames.
