Street Art BA
I spent all morning sorting out my blocked bank account. The bank was worried at my recent spending spree..oh dear! After spending a good hour calling and 5 phone conversations it was ready for use :)
In the afternoon April and I had booked ourselves in for the Graffitimundo tour around the city, which started at 3pm. Racing out of the subte station at 2:50 to flag down a taxi, we very nearly missed the tour. Thankfully we spotted the group of tourists at a wall mural a few blocks from the meeting point and were able to join in a little late.
The tour has certainly been a highlight of my time here in BA. We were led through the barrios of Colegiales and Villa Crespo, both of which I hadn't ventured into and shown very impressive street art, turning relatively ugly or plain walls and buildings and even eye sores into mesmorizing art pieces. The picture I have posted is someone's house covered in famous phrases and quotes related to the president Cristina. We finished up in a graffiti gallary/bar in Palermo Soho called Post bar, where we rested our feet, ordered some beer, which was accompanied with salty popcorn, and chilled whilst listening to The Beatles greatest hits.
Afterwards, we headed back to the VG house for a quick change before going to Andrew's for some chicken and chorizo tagliatelle. We dined al fresco, drank some vino, and met the others back at the house where we drank some more until leaving at 2am for our favourite club, Amerika.
