Life with The Pinks

By suzypink

Snowday!

Today had been a snow day! We had heavy snow overnight and a very excited Master Pink came into our room at something with a six-o-clock to announce to us "it's snowed...can I go out to play?" he was sent back to his room to read. That lasted until 7am. After this he went downstairs, with intermittent requests to explore the wintery paradise that was snow in the garden! We gave in by 8'o clock and he was soon dressed in winter warmers and a big coat and welly boots. Soon after Mr and Master Pink were outside in the front garden playing with the white stuff!

I managed to be in the warm for slightly longer. Miss Pink was very tired after yesterdays festivities so she had a lie in. Once she was up we got togged up in our warm clothes and went to join the boys. The mini pinks had a brilliant time swooshing up and down the road on their sledges. Miss Pink is an adrenaline junkie in the making. She loved the sledging; wooshing faster and faster and giggling her head off. Master Pink has fallen in love with snowballs, and the neighbours came out to join us, so he had plenty of targets.

After warming up with a bit of lunch, we got our snow clothes back on and walked or rather trudged round to Grandma pinks to have a slice of birthday cake and say goodbye to uncle and Auntie Pink who were heading home to London. Once they had left mum's we all went out to play in the garden. Master Pink initiated a snowman so that was the first task. By the end of the afternoon, Grandma's garden had a large snowman, a small snowman, a snow dog, and cat, and the foundations of an igloo. It was a fab afternoon. Snow is so much fun with little people about.

We headed home as it started to get dark. It's been a great weekend. Lots of family time, and lots of fun.

(oh and I took the day off the challenge today as I couldn't resist a snow picture)
