View of Mt. Hood and the Willamette River
Today was another amazing day! We decided to check out Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and after that I found another great vantage point for another shot of Mt. Hood (10 miles north of the last shot).
The wildlife refuge was interesting, but I did not see much wildlife...there were so many folks with noisy kids and dogs, which tends to scare most of the birds away. It was a beautiful walk and I joined up with my daughter and granddaughter, who were also puttiing together some "teaching material" for a future class for children on wildlife walks. We had lots of fun gathering natural art material that they took home to do a nature piece...can't wait to see what they do!
The photo of Mt. Hood was taken from the west side of the Willamette River from Corbett Street as it passes over Barber Blvd...it's an amazing vantage point to get Ross Island and the Willamette River (very close to the area where Oaks Bottom refuge resides).
