Frozen backwater

Took a quick stroll down by the river just before sunset and found the backwater around the boat club was freezing over. It's very damp down in the river valley and the temperature seems to be lower there than anywhere else in the village. I only took my gloves off for a few minutes to take pictures but my fingers soon felt so cold I thought I had the beginnings of frostbite! It took quite a while to get them comfortable again.

They are forecasting snow tomorrow evening. You can never trust February - more often than not it gives us a spell in the freezer before the dawn of spring in March.
