Living the high life in La Paz
A day of contrasting altitudes as we left Santiago at a comfortable 500 metres and arrived some 4 hours later at La Paz airport at a sky high 4,100 metres altitude.
Our ride into downtown was nice and eventful with our driver having a close shave with a kamikaze taxi but we still had time to pull over to take today's Blip showing a view of La Paz which sits nestled in the valley.
The locals number one rule to tourists who are living the high life in La Paz is to "walk a little....eat a little....and sleep a little". Good advice we will definitely follow in our 2 days here before our cross country adventure commences.
On our first stroll we loved seeing the colorful, older women with their bowler hats and long, hooped skirts. Can't wait to get a photo tomorrow.
