Iquique, Northern Chile
This is a major city of over 200,000 people surrounded by desert and in the middle of copper and nitrate resources and hence it's being. It has the lowest rainfall in the world and it's close to a latitude which has the sun directly overhead which means if you're going thin on top always wear a hat! And of course Darwin was here! He said it was a town " very much in needs of everyday necessities, such as water ...". This picture shows the fabulous beach , the colourful and family orientated people and the desert looming in the background.
