Every photo tells a story

Sir Tom Finney's snotty snecker.

I saw a couple of interesting things today after dropping off Mrs. G at work at 07:00 am. There is a church close to the town centre which is lit up so well, it looks as if the sun's golden rays are reflected in the arched windows. Methodists seem to prefer the classical style of architecture and this is shown in the design of the church. After all that, why have I blipped an image of the frozen statue of Preston's most famous son. I was rushing home to get my camera in order to record the golden windows and spotted two of the groundstaff at PNEFC, frantically clearing ice and spreading rock salt around the statue.
Picked up the camera and returned to town, got the photograph I wanted, and returned to the ice bound Preston plumber. The groundsmen had gone but I could see where they had made the surface safe. Anyway I had managed a few shots and noticed that the cups of tea consumed were now working through me at the speed associated with the -5 degrees celsius. So there you are, you wait ages and then two appear at once, blipwise that is.I did get some nice gull shots yesterday with shallow depth of field, extended depth of field, and a couple of shots of the built environment. If you live in Preston you can always find something blippable in an emergency fashion that is at the statue of the Splash and at Riversway, which will always be to me the docks. Of halcycon days with dad and sister Winefred climbing on the huge piles of timber. The smell of the resin from the freshly machined planks. Forgive me I ramble. Ah well, that's the beauty of blip. When I have finished here I will post some pics to flickr, under my alter ego of 5strings1.
Adios.
