KEEP OUT!

This is the fence around another large block of land which is being managed very differently from the "Ponsonby swimming pool". This is part of the Great North Road car sales yard strip. What was here was demolished a few years ago to make way for a great new development, probably for luxury cars; another term for waste of money. All one needs in a car is four wheels, a motor, a steering wheel, seats and a waterproof cabin. Everything above that is unnecessary and is chosen for reasons of comfort or ego. Comfort I can accept (and the peace of mind of a new car that has no problems).

Anyhow. Back to this picture. I have not been consciously aware (before today) of the razor wire along the full length of the board fence around this site. It does have a very new look to it. It is really nasty; it is designed to inflict severe injuries in any person foolish, drunk, psychotic, drug crazed enough to try and climb over. There are one or two peep holes to see through. Basically it is a hole in the ground (nowhere near as deep as the other site) in which there are weeds and scrubby plants, and on a lower level, parked vans awaiting (I assume) delivery to the car sellers.

The whole of the fence (on 2 1/4 sides) is covered by advertising posters for entertainment. The bits I have featured advertise a television channel (two programmes neither of which I have any interest in seeing), two gigs at the Powerstation, and what else I am unsure.

Part of me curmudgeonly grumbles that the razor wire should be blocking the poster stickers.
