old stuff

last weekend we cleared the junk off the top of the old slurry pit. Today the dangerous holey bits got new covers put on. Not so very long ago our front door looked a bit like the door in the background here (picture taken as I was inspecting the job). It's quite incredible to think how much we've done so far.....and how far we still have to go! We've been saving our pennies for four years now and this is why Building#3 is taking off this year...complete with new roof, solar panels, decent bedrooms for the children, storage space, workshop........

As you can see from the light here, it snowed and it freeeeeezing cold today. So cold that the chickens went to bed early. When I went to collect the eggs they were all huddled into a corner and looking sad. It's not my fault that winter turned up!!!
