The sun did not shine...
...but at least it was dry!
Not quite the Dr Seuss opening lines I know. And boy do I know those opening lines! Noodles has something of a Seuss-fixation. He like all of them but The Cat in the Hat is his absolute favourite. I have read The Cat in the Hat at least once a day and often several times a day for the past six months! I could read it backwards, sideways and probably upside down. I am heartily sick of it but still he requests it. For some reason it captures his imagination more than all the other books we have. We have temporary excursions into Elmer or Gruffalo territory but always always he comes back to The Cat in the Hat.
Bob is not allowed to read it. It must be me. When Bob asked why, Noodles replied, 'Mummy says it right.' he means I do the voices for all the characters, giving them accents...as much to keep me from keeling over with boredom as anything else.
Bob says the fish sounds like the love child of John Prescott and Jane Horrocks! And on that thought I'll bid you a happy weekend.
Edit: Have just read it again and something I meant to say before was...how much of a monster must the mother in that story be if even the family goldfish shakes with fear when she's on her way home!?
