Tapestry of lichens

An early walk today, as rain was forecast, sure enough it was drizzling by the time we got back! Couldn't resist going back to the wall I've been blipping recently, the lichen growth patterns are quite amazing, a real tapestry of different species, with their differing colours and textures, they also look a bit like a map of countries with
their well defined boundaries! the rock is old red sandstone and I love those quartz veins running through. this one is definitely worth going large.
