Along the Harriman Trail

I did it, 4.5 hours, 32 K or about 19 miles - and next Saturday the top dog competitors will complete the same length in about one hour. How on earth? I never took my skis off, I barely got out of the tracks except when there were not tracks, a 5 K stretch quite slowed me down without these and ice to boot. I ate as I skied, a carrot in my pocket, some nuts in the other pocket, then a baked potato and a few cheese chunks. I tried to take a photo of the markers as I passed them every 2K but finally with 8K left stopped as I wanted to be in and home free.

This shot is early in the day, and I do love the lumps of snow over small baby pines. It was my favorite of the collection - I have one of me that Tom who met me with the car took, but frankly I hate mug shots, especially of me. So there you have it. Tomorrow we take the day off!
