Ties

All this talk of The Shrub House made me search through my ties and yes.... there it is: the proud achievement of my teenage years. The idea behind the Shrub House 100 was simple. Every time you bought a pint of Admans you had your card stamped. The first 100 people to have their card stamped 100 times got a tie and their name printed on a roll of (dis)honour. The first 10 people to do this also got an all expenses paid trip to Adnams brewery who kindly provided lunch and as much free beer as one could drink. The first 10 also had their name printed in gold on the roll of honour. Me? I was number 9. A few years ago the roll of honour was still in a frame behind the bar at the St Andrews Tavern next door to what was the Shrub House. I doubt it is still there now.
