A wee Burns supper

Today is the birthday of Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet. Traditionally, it is marked by a Burns' Supper held on the actual day or as near as possible to it. The main course is haggis, neeps and tatties - and a wee dram of course!

Robert Burns was born in 1759 at Alloway in Ayrshire and died at the young age of 37. Despite this, he wrote hundreds of poems which resonate with people the world over, to this day. Many of his poems will be familiar as songs, and many of us will have our own favourites.
