Carefully

Brick walls and chain link fences
Running full speed
Running too fast to read
Obstacles left and right
Street signs
Caution tape
Slow down and read the signs
Or live the way I do
Does he know who
Who I am
What this is
Or where we are

Maybe he does
Playing cat and mouse just because
Or is there something more

Killing me slowly
Simultaneously
Bringing me to life rapidly
Like the heartbeat
Pumping adrenaline
Saving a girl
Or diminishing a level
A level of passion
So strong
Too strong

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
