So they're digging up our private road to replace the gas main.

This to me is health and safety gone mad - did we really need a little bit of pavement with a walk-way. To make this more bizarre they've completely closed the footpath into the flats so you have to actually walk into the main road to get out, where it could actually benefit from some barriers!
