Light and shade - Cavendish Square, Cape Town

Simple one today. Meeting no. 1 daughter for lunch after her interview for visa to live in the US.

She's pleased, I'm not. That's both of our kids left/leaving SA in just a few weeks.

I can't complain about her plans; I came here from the UK in my 20s and made a life, met and married another "import" (from Scotland), prospered, raised a family. For us, the grass has definitely been greener. Now it's our kids' chance.

Looks like more overseas travel on the horizon...
