wind turbines

Spent most of the day driving to the west coast of Brittany through driving rain. Near the coast there are quite a few of these turbines.

I suppose they do produce a certain amount of energy but they are an eyesore on the landscape and far from silent.

So how do we produce more electricity or is the solution to consume less?

Solar panels are not much use here. That said, the light might be sufficient to generate some power.
