Gong Hei Fat Choi

Happy Year of the Dragon!!! I have a feeling that this year will hold lots of big changes in my life. I have always felt that I have had some traits of this zodiacal sign, but I was born in the year of the snake....

I was feeling particularly superstitious today, so I wore red pants today and cooked a couple of things that are traditional/good luck on Chinese New Year's day.

*vegetarian lettuce cups/wraps - the Cantonese word for lettuce sounds like 'rising fortune'
*dumplings - symbolize wealth and prosperity

But I also love eating both of these items too - always have, Chinese New Year's or not.....
