We woke up at 2am this morning - the dogs were barking like crazy! At 2.15am we heard a loud sweech & clap, almost like fireworks being lit - then a few bangs. I can see the front gate from my room window - there were orange and green sparks jumping around on the pavement, caused by the live cable. The power went off.

Few minutes later it was blue lights (cops) and lots of cars, people in the street talking - we did not go outside. We could see the power cables laying over the road - we still don't know if the power cables snapped or if it were cable thiefs
cutting the cables. We managed to get back to sleep - they were busy for a long time, making the area safe etc.

This morning at 8am they were busy repairing the cables and at 10.15am the power went back on.

Blipped them while they repaired the cables - did not even have to go far, it was right in front of my main gate. The dove was not put off by the working men, he was cooing away like they weren't even there :)
