Which way is the wind blowing - - - -

Noticed this weather vane for the first time on the farm building we walk past most days! The farm specialises in Jerseys so not surprising it features a cow.
A mixed up sort of day. Later into the morning went to Northallerton to deliver an early 9oth birthday gift. The lady, B, celebrates on Wednesday and we are invited for cake and 'bubbly' in the afternoon. Her older sister (96) now lives in the same complex of flats, she lived across the road from me till recently. Of course I had to call on her too, all very pleasant but when I left I was hoarse!
The weather in the afternoon was lovely. As a pre-cursor to going to the vet's we took Bracken on her walk. There's always a degree of stress associated with these visits never knowing what might show up as the animals get older. But ostensibly just' the routine annual M.O.T. Poor Diesel, one minute he's asleep on his heated bed, the next he is being stuffed tail first (so he can't see!) into the cat carrier. Bracken was looked at last in the surgery and it was awful as she squirmed and got really upset. The vet had to give the injection with a hamster needle so she wouldn't feel it. We were exhausted by the time we got home and I was covered in dog hair. Thank heavens that's over for another year. The good news is that they are both OK!
Looking forward to a relaxing evening, tapestry in one hand, wine on standby!
