(supported) Standing Stone

Standing stones are ten a penny up here. I live in an area with many stones and stone circles. We even have our own special style of circle including a recumbant stone. It's all very interesting.

I love to visit these ancient monuments and touch them, imagine the hands that quarried the stone, dragged it into position and fixed it to last millennia. Some of the stones are patterned and I like to trace the shapes made a thousand years ago or more. It makes me feel connected to the past and to the people to whom these stones meant so much.
