A draw

I was awake and busy at 530am. No particular reason, so I didn't worry about it, I had a cuppa and did some paperwork.

DD was playing away match today, the house is still in total chaos, she was ready to go just on time, we walked to get the car from DS, who had parked it on a nearby street without a ticket :( he was lucky the traffic wardens hadn't been round by the time I got there. While we were walking, I wondered if she had her house key (to get her boots) , no, she hadn't.

She had the wrong kit, and it was the wrong weather. She was in goal. They scored, she got a hand to it, but it went in.  Sheffield fc equalised, then went ahead, only to be caught in the final seconds, so 2all draw ,fair but annoying.
It was very windy, the linesman's flag was flying straight out when he called a halt, but I was never close enough to get the picture I wanted, this really doesn't show the scene, but it'll have to do.

We spent the afternoon putting together her new bed. It wouldn't go up the attic stairs. DS and I tried all angles, had a cup of tea and then tried again, same result - no go. We took the handrail off - No go.We took the door off - No go. We took part of the door frame off - no go. we sawed part of the door frame away - no go. I contemplated cutting a hole in the ceiling to get it up there, kids said - no. I thought about sawing part of the bed- frame off (along a glue line) kids said - no.
I phoned a friend who said why don't you use that bed downstairs and get DD to chose another bed which will go up the stairs, DD said - NO. friend said if that fails if you hit it hard enough against the glue line (with a block of wood to protect it) it might come apart.
I hit it hard, repeatedly, it came apart along the glue line and........
it went up the stairs - hoo-bloody-ray.
and was she grateful? not so that you'd notice. she whinged that there were marks on the wood.

The mattress was in the place the bed was going, the desk was too close to the mattress, the boxes were under the desk, and on top of the desk, and the other side of the desk. IT ALL HAD TO BE MOVED. and even then it was a bit squeezy putting the bed together. DS had given up by this time and gone off to his dads to work.

She slept in it last night despite the horrendous wind, mostly outside, although we did have abalti for tea as we were all knackered.
Today (this is an edited version) i tried putting the door and hand rail back on. handrail went back on ok, lasted about 5 seconds, it will have to be re-drilled. The screws for the door got mixed up with some others and i'm not sure which ones are the right ones, but I can't get them to screw right in, so I can't shut the bloody door.
