He' Just My Bill!'
"One who wants to keep their yard tidy does not reserve a plot for the weeds"
Almost every facet of organizing has a mantra: "A place for everything?,or "A home for everything and everything in its place" These little sayings are really strategies that can help keep you focused and organized. Many people think that getting organized is about being neat and tidy. On the contrary, a person who is not very neat or tidy, can be very organized. Being organized actually entails 'FINDING EVERYTHING YOU NEED WHEN YOU NEED IT, and GETTING EVERYTHING DONE WHEN IT IS DUE.' If you can master these two things, you are well on your way to being organized.Hubby is one of these people.
What appears to be a scene of chaos can actually make sense to THE CREATOR.Studying the contents of this Blip makes me chuckle. Our garage is an Alladin's cave.It is full to overflowing with all sorts of TREASURES, while MY car has to sit outside on the drive.
He has, as expressed by Michael McIntyre 'A MAN DRAWER,' only problem being his 'MAN DRAWER' just happens to be 'A MAN BOX'-------- the ENTIRE DOUBLE GARAGE!!
Supporting this 'Tower of Babel' is MY Hostess trolley, which although in working order can never be accessed when we have dinner parties!
Look at how he prioritises:
1.Man tools are neatly displayed on the walls, in ' COLLECTIVE' groups.
2.Electric bulbs gathered for immediate use are 'PARKED' on garage forecourt.
3.Multi meter, electric gear and stapler to the fore, ready to do jobs only a 'MAN CAN DO!'
4.Car polish etc ready to hand even although the car manufacturers instructions stated 'DO NOT POLISH for the first TWO YEARS!!'
These collections are crowned by memorabilia, a photograph of his dad in Army uniform,a Motherwell souvenir teddy we bought his dad many years ago and a brass ornament of a drunk man clinging to a lampost from his aunts house.Maybe this reminds him of himself on his Stag night singing 'I belong tae Glesgae!'
Under the afore mentioned pile of great importance to him, a grand dolls house which my dad built for me some fifty odd years ago and which was then renovated and passed on to my girls.Precariously perched on top is a garage and a fort dad made for our son.Made me feel kinda sad to see them amongst the 'apparent' clutter.
Above, a box filled with genuine fur coats, once the envy of everyone his mother and aunts knew but now worthless. The stash of paperwork just visible, purposefully steadies the edifice.
To the side are some 78 r.p.m. records incase he gets lonely and a Playmobile pirate ship to while away the hours he spends out there. Can't imagine why he has a pair of mum's boots stuffed in an orange bucket , yet has his working coat neatly hung on a coathanger!!Maybe they are awaiting the sorting process.I'm sure there is a reason.
The ensemble he refer to as 'Rue Bourbon.'
NEWSFLASH:His latest aquisition is a set of ex. study filing cabinets in which he has filed a FOOD STOCK.Last week I went in search of a can of dog food and had to phone to ask where it was filed!
Ahhh, I love that man cos --- 'he's just my Bill!'
