Big Sands
'Tahuna' in Maori is translated as 'sandbank'
nui in Maori is translated as 'big'
Tahunanui is our local beach - 'Big Sands'
And with the tide being very low when I passed it this afternoon the sands appeared to stretch on forever.
Summer on Tahunanui Beach = beach cricket, sunbathing, kayaking, kitesurfing, walking, swimming, sand-castle building, boogie-boarding, picnicking, windsurfing, rowing, sailing . . .
. . . oh, and photographing!
Check it out large and let me know if you can spot any other activities going on!
(Btw - the editing is rubbish! I've joined 5 images and the joins are embarrassinlgy obvious! Still, I just wanted to give an idea of the size and feel of a mid-summer's day on Tahunanui beach.)
