Trees and Foreboding Skies
After yesterday's springlike warm temperatures, along with severe thunderstorm warnings (oh, and high wind warnings), today the weather arrived with an Arctic blast!
The thermometer read sixteen degrees (Fahrenheit) on our front porch this morning, in contrast to last evening's fifty degrees. It had snowed at some point, as the snow was blowing about like tiny balls of styrofoam.
We went out this afternoon to Penn Yan. I kept thinking I really needed a good Blip, but the weather was so cold and the skies so grey, I thought I would never find anything worth photographing.
On our way home, late afternoon, the sunshine suddenly made a valiant effort to come out. As we were driving home, I spotted this photo op and was so pleased with the end result. I loved the stark darkness of the trees with the bits of blue and sunshine trying to break through the endless clouds....
