The smoke house.
We went to Bamburgh this morning, another village that closes down for January, and walked along the beach almost to Budle Bay. As this is a nature reserve we didn't think it wise to go there with Toby.
The sun was out again, but again it was very cold. So cold that there was frost on the beach and all the rock pools were frozen.
We took Toby back to the cottage for a sleep, and then we visited Craster, our favourite place on the Northumberland coast, with a beautiful walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle ruins.
This is the smoke house in Craster , where kippers were being smoked. The smell was wonderful.
