Centuries
This photograph, at Deansgate Locks in Central Manchester, shows developments from four centuries - the Rochdale Canal was opened from Manchester to Rochdale in the 18th; the railway viaduct was built in the 19th; the tram which runs upon it, and to which the stairs give access, was opened in the 20th and the Beetham Tower was completed in the 21st. If I wanted to really stretch the theme, I could point out that Buddha was born in 624BC but the bar bearing that name was not.
