Red Squirrel

White Feather, Black Ice

Better as a FULL SIZE FEATHER!

Started today with no idea what I'd blip, and not really caring either - I'd just been told that my ancient central heating boiler has finally given up the ghost (it's over 30 years old). Nice (NOT!). So I'm going to have to put up with no central heating for the rest of winter and somehow over the next 8/9 months sort the £800 approx. that it's going to cost to have the new one (sitting outside waiting) fitted. Aaargh. Budgeting time methinks. I am NOT a happy Squirrel today :-((
Went outside at 11 to get the weekly dunging session done in the paddock, and found Tom's water trough frozen over - with this little feather well stuck to the ice, and covered in water droplets. The patterns on the ice were lovely too.
Whilst dunging I came across some clumps of web/hair (whatever) also covered in frozen droplets.
If none of the feather shots had been good enough to blip, then this clump (a discarded fairy's wing?) would have been my next choice - in fact I was hard pushed to choose between them.
I loved the swirly patterns also on a couple of frozen pools of water on my mud, and on the grass - HERE and HERE.
So having started the day with no idea what to blip, I came back indoors with a good selection of shots to choose from. Doesn't exactly compensate for the demise of my boiler though ...... Hrrrmph!
