Yup - Golden Bay, NZ :)

Left home in blazing hot sunshine, arrived over here a few hours later to a markedly cooler temperature (although not quite as 'cool' as the place down south which has had SNOW fall today!) but there's such a comfort in just being here. This place 'fits' me no matter what the weather. I love it.

Haven't done much since arriving - just enjoying soaking up the GB air. Smells good. Feels great.

A couple of things I'm hoping to do whilst over here - firstly, to head to Wharariki beach to catch a sunrise shot. That'll be interesting - I'm soooo not a morning person and to get to the beach (20-30 minutes drive plus about 20-plus minutes walk) I'll have to leave here around 5.00am! It's a challenge I'm up for though - hopefully on Tuesday morning. Secondly, if the skies are clear enough, to have a go at some star trails images.

And on a completely different note, this is the first time I've ever been able to blip from Golden Bay. The wonders of technology :) A mobile data stick and the laptop is all that's needed to connect this (relatively) remote corner of a (relatively) remote region of a (very) remote country to the rest of the world. Amazing!
