Song in the sadness

Today is such a sad day. My wonderful uncle Ian died suddenly last night. He was only 56. There's not much else I can say that would give form to my feelings. As with all the family, I'm in a state of disbelief.

This vibrant starling cheered me a little with his banter this afternoon. He seemed to be talking directly to me with his whistles and my heart was grateful for his song.
