Exotica
Here is a touch of exotica in a bleak Scottish garden during mid January.
So, what is it?
Those familiar with the tropics- or certain supermarkets- will recognize it as a dragon fruit found in Central America and South East Asia..
Some friends who were out in the Far East last year say they got them every morning for breakfast.
I have yet to eat it though I am told the flesh is a cross between a melon and a kiwi fruit.
