Prickly pear cactus

Back home on the coast; enjoying a BBQ with the neighbours. Just as I left the house I snapped this with my phone. I liked the shadows of the pergola on the cactus.

Two years ago I took a tiny leaf from a prickly pear cactus from cortijo de las nieves in the countryside and brought it home and now it's this huge cactus. But so far we've not had any chumbos, the pear-shaped prickly fruit that are still collected here in the autumn.
