Bright White

The red willow along the Big Wood River that we skied beside today for 15 K is about my favorite plant in this country, right up there with alders. Their color shifts throughout the day. This is later afternoon with the sun off my right shoulder.

I am so happy on the trails in my classic equipment, my mind wandering here and there with the rhythm of the stride. Pure heaven on earth for me. It was 0 degrees when we started but so dry and no wind so it really is not that cold - unless you are in the shade. By the time I took this it was in the twenties and quite balmy!
