Is It Any Wonder I Take A Drink?

Have you ever seen the film Falling Down? A man flips out one day after the stresses of 'normal life' and runs amok. I always thought it was a total cop out that they decided at the end he had a psychosis.

I don't have any psychosis that I'm aware of, but this morning saw me in the street, in my dressing gown, about to attack a roofer. It was only by a supreme effort of will that I restrained myself.

I won't bore you with the details, but the company who rang me on Friday and assured me they were doing my emergency repair today turned up and said they were doing photos for loss adjustments. I told them I didn't need them to do that as it was done yesterday, and what they were there to do was make a temporary repair on the hole in the roof. They drove off.

I have spent most of the day arguing with the insurance companies at 4 different levels of outsourcing. Turns out the roofers rang them straight up and told them a load of lies about why they didn't do the work.

I hardly drink at all, actually. Maybe I would feel less stressed if I did?
