After being head brick layer, plasterer, labourer, project manager, architect, plumber, electrician and CAD technician, Chris is now the carpenter, cascading lovely shavings of wood all over the kitchen floor. Tomorrow he plans to be a floor-fitter-tiler.

This evening we ditched the regular cook up on a camping stove and celebrated the progress on the kitchen with a meal at Jamie's Italian: mixed breads, plank of roast vegetables, salads and cheeses, cockle linguine, gorgonzola, walnut and pear salad, and a lemon curd slice, all washed down with some red wine. Delicious.
