Waterfoot Sunrise

Claonaig

Another dreich day with the sun refusing to break through the grey skies. A couple of early morning blips while out running were less than inspiring and on review still looked grey.

By mid afternoon we were heading up the road to Renfrew as we both have dental appointments in the morning. Kept looking out for a blip and this was the best I could come up with. Claonaig is on the east coast of Kintyre and consists of little more than a slipway for the Summer only ferry crossing to Arran. As we approached there was a pink tinge to some of the grey clouds from the setting sun, which was somewhere to the west and out of sight.

In many ways this landscape is more typical of Kintyre than the sunsets I tend to favour. Low cloud hanging over the Cock of Arran is normal at this time of year and has its own appeal.

Colder weather forecast for later in the week, so hopefully I might yet get that blip of a snow covered Arran I promised last month!
