Up the Creek
.....without a paddle.
This is a view of the creek opposite my sister's house, taken this morning in the brief 15 minutes of clear sky and sunshine. It is obviously very tidal here and there is a relatively small window of opportunity for boats to leave their moorings, sail around the bay and return before the water levels fall too low again. The available time obviously depends on the height of the tides and so for all concerned a current (excuse the pun) tidal table is essential reading and probably formed part of many a Christmas stocking left by Santa. During very high tides the small road becomes flooded and the sea can encroach the gardens of neighbouring houses such that they have to monitor the tides carefully if needing to leave the house for a specific time.
I left Lancashire this morning and returned home on the train from Preston. My good friend, who has been looking after Bruce, met me at the station and I joined them for a very welcome supper before bringing Bruce home with me. Despite their having spoiled him rotten he gave me a wonderful welcome and seemed happy to be home. Thank you so much "MeaMo". I collect Cara from the kennels tomorrow morning.
I left Lancashire in the rain and arrived back in Scotland to a chilly temperature of 2' and sleet. I did try to bring some Vegas sunshine home with me but somehow it must have leaked out en route! So, my apologies to fellow blippers in the UK to whom I had promised the gift of sunshine!
