Swing Bargain

After what feels like a good few gloomy days it's been lovely to see the sun today. But No.1 son was dismayed to see me produce my camera at the park. There were actual real tears! We had to have a little chat about everybody having the chance to do a little bit of what they wanted on this sunny Bank Holiday Monday. Namely, if he wanted to have a push, I wanted to take some pictures. Fortunately this was taken in good spirits and developed into a new song* called 'bit of a push, bit of a picture'!

Other than that it's been pretty uneventful. Lots of board games, a trip to Tesco and we introduced the kids to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which they are loving, but was stopped before bedtime by Mr CleanSlate on the grounds that it was getting a bit close to the 'child-snatcher' bit?? I clearly haven't seen this film for a very long time and now need to spend my evening fast forwarding through to check it for material that may cause distress**

Also, I sold our old car seat on eBay. Yay. It's been listed for a couple of days and had already sparked some interest. In the listing I described it as 'faded in places' but someone e-mailed to ask if it was stained. I replied that yes there were some light stains on the arms and they would be very welcome to come and have a look. They drove 20 miles to see it and stood on the doorstep only to proclaim that it was 'stained' and turn their noses up at it. Which is fine, but why bother? So today a new girl came and No.1 son was really interested in what would happen. He was asking me beforehand, 'You will be kind, won't you Mummy, you won't make her have it if she doesn't like it, will you?' This is obviously because of my tyrannical nature??!! :-/ So when she came in, he said straightaway, 'Do you like it?' She said she did and he replied, 'Oo, that's good, because we've sold it once before but they didn't like it when they came'. Which isn't even true!! Why does the floor never just open up and swallow you, when you want it to?? Remarkably she did pay and leave with the thing. Phew ;-)

*My artistic prowess knows no bounds!

**No.1 son could be described as a big fat scaredy cat delicate flower, when it comes to these things!
