Welcome to Cusco

After a ridiculous transfer at Lima where we had to go through customs collect our luggage, check our baggage back in, rush to security get turned back because we didn't have the correct sticker on our boarding pass, get a sticker, back through security only to get to the gate for the flight to be delayed by an hour for no reason, we arrived in Cusco.

What an amazing place it seems to be. Strange mix of nationalities. Interesting architecture. Very 'Peruvian' looking people. We also found that the altitude here has a massive effect. Dizzy fuzzy headedness. The plus is that after meeting up with our guide and trekking group we were told that our starting point is about 1000m lower than Cusco. The minus is that the highest point in the trek is 600m above Cusco. I feel a lot of hills coming on.
