Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Fun First Day

Two of our three grandchildren, Ashly and Emerson, spent the New Year's afternoon with us. They arrived here about 1:30 and after a few minutes of snuggling our three pups, we all headed for a local restaurant for lunch.

It was after 4:00 and after a delicous meal and a good time together when we arrived back to our place. So I asked if we could take some photos and they were okay with that. We're posing next to Emerson's 1978 Fiat. I think Grandpa Fun is a little envious! Grandpa had a bug-eyed Sprite when he was a youngster (and wishes he still owned it).

Ashly is 23 and Emerson is 20. They are our daughter's children. Ashly told us during lunch that she has changed her college major from nursing to becoming a special education teacher. She has been a teacher's aide in our local school district for the past two years working one-on-one with autistic children. She thorough ly enjoys her job and has decided that she wants to continue working with special needs children. I couldn't be more pleased. Teaching has been a very fulfilling career for me.

Our other granddaughter is Desiree, who will be 23 the end of this month. She is the mom of our 4-year-old great-grandson Tristan. We miss them. They live in Oklahoma and we have not seen them since this past July.

This has been a fabulous first day of 2012.

Happy New Year everyone!
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
