...No more champagne......

ABBA:Happy New Year

S No-vhim go-dam

Today, in Russia, all the children, will have woken to presents brought to them by Dyet Ma-ros (Grandfather Frost) in his red coat and white beard.

The title today is a bit of a fib, we actually have two bottles left!

D and V and V's sister came round last night, we had blinis and caviar (an aquired taste) with vodka, the Boss' version of beef bourguignon and a to die for lemon tart with clotted cream.

V was slightly with drink taken when she arrived, and copius amounts of wine, champagne, beer and JD didn't cause her to get any more sober. Watched Jools Holland and then went outside to see the fireworks and let inthe New Year, with a couple of excellent cigars for D and me.

V then decided to take some photographs with my camera.....I had to dump about 60 out of focus, blurred, heads chopped off etc shots.

Party eventually broke up about 2.30.

For some inexplicable reason woke up at 6.33....and I mean wide awake!

Roused the Boss at 10.30, beakfast of champions, strong coffee and a fag and then we headed up to the local to meet some friends we haven't seen in years...and I mean years...at least 10. Not a good start, the Bull was still shut up at 12.10, so we decamped across the road to the Rose....virtually had the place to ourselves. A planned hour turned into over two hours....you know that saying about true friends and just being able to take up no matter how long since you've seen them.....it's true....we laughed and laughed for the whole two hours. Departed with promises to meet up again soo.....and I think we will, we've missed each other's company for too long. So thanks Graham, Sue, Sally and Nigel.

Back home for a late lunch/early dinner of four bird roast with the Daughter, the S & H, YH and of course Charlotte. Lots of playing with her Christmas toys, a few more drinks and then we put her down to sleep. The Daughter went off "for a lie down" and we four vegged out in front of the TV, the new Sherlock Holmes on the BBC, with a few more drinks, coffees, mints and chocolates.

They've gone home now...so I guess that's Christmas truly finished, the Boss is at work tomorrow, the Daughter goes back on Tuesday....I need to buy some new shoes for work and organise an ISA for Charlie....but at least I'm still on holiday until Monday 9th!!!!!

Might go see Dad, might see if hebs fancies a day out, might even go fishing....weather permitting.

Das vidanya moy padruga.
