It's a Small School Afterall
On my way out of my meeting, I noticed that the construction workers that have been drifting across campus all summer have decided to block off an entire street with caution tape and equipment. So I took a shot to use as a last resort. After playing with filters, though, I decided I liked it better than the other shots I'd taken.
Before the filters and after the equipment, though...a funny story...
Walking back to my car, I saw a green sweet gum tree seed pod. Picked it up and thought it might be fun to blip as a perspective shot. Placed it on the brick path and knelt down to get a few shots. After about the third shot, I noticed that a guy had slowed in his walk towards me and hesitated, then stopped next to me. I looked up. "Sociology, right?" I nodded. "You were in my class. Well, you helped teach my class...what are you doing?"
I explained about the site and that I was trying a perspective shot. He laughed and suggested I take a perspective shot with him in it, too. I shrugged and he laid down on the path to actually be in the shot. Took a few and showed him.
"I look like I'm dead!" We then began to concoct a story about how the seed pod had fallen out of the tree and crushed into his skull, knocking him unconscious and that I had happened upon the scene, camera handy, and blipped it.
As we were finishing this story, a group of older folk walked past and one gentleman asked us if the seed pod had knocked him out. We laughed and then the older gentleman asked us if we'd be sending the shot home to mom. We laughed again and the group wandered away.
My newest photo model introduced himself and left to head home. So here he is...Zeke and the Killer Seed Pod!
What do you think? Should I have made the 'Zeke and the Pod' shot my blip instead? Should I change it?
