Life through the lens...

Winter cheer.

Dull, dreary, wet day!

Called at Tom's. He seemed fed up and looked a little sad on his own in the shed.
Is suffering with a bad back. first time in 82 years he said.
Greenhouse now empty waiting for next years tomatoes.
In his smaller greenhouse he had a few primulas left so I bought some to put on the kitchen windowsill to cheer things up.
We don't usually call very often in winter as he hasn't much to sell. Just a few turnips or cabbage from time to time.
I think this winter we will have to keep calling just to cheer him up and make sure he is OK. I'm sure all his other friends ( and he has many as we all love Tom) will be doing the same.

Dinner at our best friends tonight. Think it might be partridge or pheasant. I do hope so!
We have a nice bottle of red wine we brought back from our holidays in France last year. to take with us.
Domaine Le Couroulu . Vacqueryas. 2007 . Bought from the vineyard.
Lovely vigneron Guy Ricard is a real character. and his wines are fantastic!
(Couroulu is Curlew in French and there is a drawing of one on the label.)
I think we are in for a great night with good food and wine and lots of laughter!

Hope you all have a good one too.
