Living on the banks of the Bagmati River

Safely back in Kathmandu after a truly wonderful Christmas - the best in my 36 years of experience! Much back-blipping to be done...

We are missing the treking already so took a long walk to Thamel via the backstreets. This family are one of many, living on the banks of the Bagmati River and amongst the rubbish. They work to sort it for 'recycling'. A sharp return to reality and the poverty that the people in this country encounter each day.
